KeyRun

Launch macOS apps, documents, and folders from keystrokes

A macOS menubar app that assigns hotkeys to apps, documents, and folders

Download it from the App Store.

KeyRun is a no-frills no-cost macOS app that runs from the menubar and lets you assign hotkeys to applications, documents, and folders.

Simply run it, then click on its icon in the menubar, and either drag apps and/or documents and/or folders to its window, or click on the Add buttons to select apps and/or documents and/or folders to add. Assign a hotkey to each of your chosen apps, documents, or folders, and close the window.

You may now use the hotkey to launch the app or document from anywhere in the system.

The app will warn you if you try to use a key that is already assigned in the system. You can modify or remove a hotkey assignment at any time.

You may backup and restore the current set of assignments, or create "profiles" of shortcuts for use at different times.

Click on the "Launch at login" button to ensure that KeyRun and its hotkeys will be available whenever you run macOS.

If you create a hotkey that launches KeyRun itself, that hotkey will open the KeyRun menu so you can immediately create or edit hotkey assignments.

To select all current shortcuts, press Cmd-A, then either Delete to delete them or Cmd-O to launch all of them. (Feature added in version 1.7.)
